Lhakpa Sherpa Elected President of United Sherpa Association of Colorado

United Sherpa Association of Colorado has unanimously elected Lhakpa Sherpa as its new president.
The election took place during the association’s general assembly, organized in celebration of the 2153rd Gyalpo Losar. Members gathered to review the association’s progress and select a new executive committee for the upcoming term.
Under the newly formed leadership, Dawa Sherpa was elected Vice President, Lhakpa Yangji Sherpa as First Treasurer, Ang Lhakpa Sherpa as Second Treasurer, and Kami Tenzing Sherpa as General Secretary.
The executive committee also includes Pa Nuru Sherpa, Pemba Geljen Sherpa, Ang Phura Sherpa, Pemba Sherpa, Mingma Temba Sherpa, Dawa Sherpa, Mendo Lama, Nima Lhamu Sherpa, and Ang Nima Sherpa.
During the opening session of the assembly, outgoing President Kaji Sherpa presented a summary of the association’s annual activities and achievements and expressed sincere appreciation to community members and supporters for their continued cooperation.
Vice President Lhakpa Sherpa shared updates on the proposed Sherpa Community Building planned for construction in Golden, Colorado, including the preliminary design, estimated budget, and potential funding sources.
In the second phase of the program, members of the outgoing executive committee were honored with traditional khadas in recognition of their valuable contributions to the growth and development of the association.
The event concluded with a cultural program featuring performances by local artists, along with a special musical presentation by well-known singer Nima Rumba, which added vibrancy and enthusiasm to the celebration.
